Using Textures & Backgrounds In Photography
Textures As Overlays
Textures can subtly enhance an image, or can totally transform it and turn it into a piece of
art, depending on the strength and type of the texture or the blend mode used.
Textures used as a layer on top of your images can give them a painterly, grungy or vintage
feel.
The effects can be very subtle, simply pulling the image together, or boldly creating a more
artistic look.

Textures As Backgrounds
Textures can serve as a backdrop for your portraits, still life or flower
photography and add interest and style to your images.
A texture can be used as a subtle background instead of just a colored backdrop or can be weaved
together with the subject and become just as important as the photograph itself.
